Nursing Services

Indianhead Medical Center has a 25 bed nursing unit. Our skilled staff provides personalized care for patients and family members. Our caring team strives to provide a positive experience for you.

Patients of all ages are cared for on our nursing unit. Twenty-four hour care is provided by our Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants who work very closely with your physician.

Respite Care

While not part of the hospital’s acute care services, respite care provides an alternative care solution for families responsible for the care of a family member in the home. Twenty-four hour care is provided, while you, the responsible party, are able to take a vacation, await an extended care or nursing facility, or just take a needed break.

Skilled Swing Bed Services

IMC’s nursing unit offers skilled nursing services that meet Medicare criteria. Our multidisciplinary team of nurses, physicians, physical therapist, pharmacist, pastoral care, dietician and social services aim to achieve optimal function status of you or your loved one. Examples of skilled services are:

• Terminal cancer requiring palliative care
• Residents with an unstable condition requiring evaluation
• IV Therapy
• Tube feedings
• Application of dressings involving prescription medicines and aseptic technique
• Physical Therapy rehabilitation
• Care of extensive decubitus
• Surgical wound care
